Our Forensic Engineering Process
FORENSIC ENGINEERING PROCESS
A Structured Path from Assignment Intake to Engineering Findings
Garner Forensics follows a controlled process for assignment intake, scope review, authorization, investigation, technical analysis, reporting, and follow-up support.
The process is designed to keep the assignment organized, documented, and professionally controlled from initial submission through findings or support.
How the Process Works
The process moves from basic assignment information through review, authorization, technical work, findings, and follow-up scope when needed.
Submit Basic Assignment Information
Submit contact information, location, assignment type, system involved, short description, known deadlines, and available documents or photographs.
Scope, Conflict & Assignment Review
The assignment is reviewed for service area, conflicts, parties involved, available records, technical fit, urgency, and assignment suitability.
Authorization & Engagement Path
If the assignment is suitable, Garner Forensics defines the appropriate next step: document review, inspection, technical analysis, reporting, expert support, request for more information, referral, or decline.
Inspection / Technical Analysis
When authorized, the investigation may include site inspection, equipment review, document review, damage assessment, restoration cost evaluation, calculations, standards review, testing coordination, or focused engineering analysis.
Findings, Report or Expert Support
Findings may be provided through a technical summary, written report, rebuttal review, consultation, deposition support, or expert witness support depending on the authorized scope.
Follow-Up & Additional Scope
Additional records, inspections, testing, supplemental reports, deposition support, or expanded analysis are handled through follow-up authorization.

Complete, organized information helps determine whether the assignment is appropriate for review and what scope may be needed.

Budget & Scope Management
Garner Forensics manages scope, authorization, and professional time so the assignment remains clear, documented, and controlled.
Scope Authorization
Work begins only after conflict review, written acceptance, and authorization of scope.
Budget Awareness
When requested, anticipated effort may be estimated in hours based on available records, complexity, inspection needs, deadlines, and expected deliverables.
Additional Work
Additional inspection, testing, analysis, supplemental reporting, deposition support, or testimony support requires follow-up authorization.
Time & Expense Documentation
Professional time and expenses are documented by task and activity to support transparent review of the work performed.
Communication and Timing
Garner Forensics communicates as needed to support scheduling, document requests, inspection coordination, authorization, and follow-up scope decisions.
Initial Review and Time-Sensitive Matters
New requests are reviewed for scope, conflicts, documentation, deadlines, and assignment suitability. Known deadlines, inspection dates, litigation status, and preservation concerns should be identified at submission.
Additional Information and Authorization
If available information is incomplete, additional records may be requested before accepting or defining scope. Work proceeds only after the matter is accepted in writing and the authorized scope is confirmed.
Status Updates and Follow-Up
Communication is provided as appropriate for scheduling, document requests, inspection coordination, and follow-up scope needs.
